OM: Harit, Lirola and Maupay still on the way out

The window has closed in France and across Europe’s top leagues, but some markets remain open. For OM, it’s a last chance to offload three unwanted players: Amine Harit, Pol Lirola and Neal Maupay.

Doors still ajar

While Ligue 1 and the main European leagues brought down the curtain on Monday night, several countries’ transfer windows remain open. Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar: destinations that are still active and could take in players on their way out. For OM, it’s a chance to try to wrap up a few last-minute departures.

Three names no longer part of the plan

Lirola, Harit and Maupay were not registered on the UEFA list and no longer figure in Roberto De Zerbi’s plans. It’s a clear signal: the club wants to part ways with them. Agents have been tasked with sounding out the markets that are still open, but finding a compromise won’t be easy, between high wage demands and contractual constraints.

Deals still complicated

In Marseille, they know this kind of situation well: players sidelined but impossible to move quickly. We remember similar cases in past seasons, sometimes resolved late. The difference today is Longoria and Benatia’s stated desire not to repeat the mistakes, by lightening an already heavy wage bill at all costs.

The Maupay case, a symbol of a stalemate

As noted by After Foot on RMC, Neal Maupay is taking his demotion very badly and is refusing all offers made. He hopes to win back playing time in Marseille, which makes the management’s task even harder. A deadlock that illustrates OM’s recurring difficulties with its “undesirables.”

The next few days will be decisive: Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar... OM has not yet found the key, but absolutely must move forward to avoid being left with a squad weighed down by players who are not part of the project.
