OM Transfer News: Deal Reached for Hamed Junior Traorè!
Traorè to OM! Agreement with Bournemouth: loan with purchase option, 5-year contract coming. A game-changer for De Zerbi, another big coup for Marseille!
It’s (almost) official: Hamed Junior Traorè is set to become a Marseille player! After days of rumors, Santi Aouna has confirmed an agreement between OM and Bournemouth. The deal? A loan with a purchase option, followed by a full four-year contract running until 2030. In other words: if all goes well, Traorè will be here to stay at the Vélodrome.
Why we’ve been waiting for him
We haven’t forgotten his breakout year: 10 goals and 2 assists with Auxerre last season. Dribbling, creativity, versatility… exactly the profile we’ve lacked since Rowe’s departure. Add to that the fact he already knows Roberto De Zerbi (they worked together at Sassuolo), and you understand why this move feels like the perfect fit.
A financially smart gamble
Once again, Pablo Longoria and Mehdi Benatia pull off a clever move. No massive upfront spending, but long-term security if Traorè delivers. In a transfer window where every euro counts, this is a smart way to strengthen without breaking the bank.
De Zerbi already has a plan
Versatile by nature, Traorè can play as a central midfielder, on the left wing, or higher up the pitch. In De Zerbi’s demanding system, he could quickly become a key piece—especially with Dani Ceballos also about to join. Just imagine this midfield: Højbjerg, Ceballos, Gomes, Traorè… starting to look like real Champions League material, right?
What’s next?
Everything is set: only administrative details and the medical remain before the official announcement. The player is already thrilled and eager to return to Ligue 1. For us supporters, this is fantastic news and a strong signal: OM is building a squad ready to light up the Champions League nights.
So, OM family: do you validate this new masterstroke from Pablo? Can Traorè become a nailed-on starter, or will he be a luxury rotation behind Ceballos and Gomes? Share your takes in the comments—we want to hear you!
