OM Transfer News: Ordóñez Wants Marseille, Bruges Playing for Time!
OM put €30m on the table, Ordóñez is dead set on Marseille… but Bruges are blocking and questioning our finances. All-out standoff—the end of the transfer window promises to be explosive!
This Joel Ordóñez saga is driving us crazy. We thought we had everything sorted: a clear offer from OM, personal terms agreed with the player, the kid hugely motivated… and yet Bruges keeps blocking it. Worse: the Belgian press even claims that Marseille can’t afford to pay the €30m asking price. Seriously? With the funds freed up by the sale of Rowe and our work in the transfer market, we’re well placed to get this deal done!
Ordóñez, fed up with broken promises
Let’s be honest: the player has had enough. Bruges had promised to let him go if a good opportunity came up, and OM ticks every box. But when it’s time to close, the Belgian club changes its tune and talks about “doubts” over the payment schedule. Result: Ordóñez is skipping training sessions, making it clear he wants to join Marseille and no longer sees himself in a Bruges shirt. The Belgian dressing room is shaken, and the tension rises by the day.
A necessity for our defence
On OM’s side, we can’t wait forever. With Medina injured and the weaknesses shown against Paris FC, we need a leader at the back. Ordóñez, 21, an Ecuador international, strong in duels and comfortable on the ball, fits the profile De Zerbi wants perfectly. He’d bring height, impact, and above all real long-term reliability.
Bruges is playing for time… but for how long?
Let’s be clear: Bruges wants to squeeze out more money, especially after the sale of Rowe and with the Premier League sniffing around (Palace in particular). But the player isn’t backing down and is pushing for Marseille. And that’s our best card. Because when a player wants OM, you know as well as I do that anything is possible.
Time for us to get it done!
Talks are ongoing, and time is running out: only a few days left before the end of the transfer window. Bruges hesitates, blocks, dithers… but OM and Ordóñez want to write a new story together. We believe, and we hope to see Joel arrive at the Vélodrome very soon.
And you, OM family: should we push to the end for Ordóñez even if it means paying top dollar, or look for a quick alternative if Bruges won’t budge?
