Ounahi on his way back to Panathinaikos?

The Ounahi case is finally picking up speed at OM: between a possible return to Panathinaikos and financial stakes, the club needs to make a decision. Ready for a real turning point?

Things are moving at our Olympique de Marseille, especially around the Azzedine Ounahi case! You've seen it like I have: back at the Commanderie after his impressive stint at Panathinaïkós, the Moroccan clearly doesn't have the favor of Roberto De Zerbi. Put aside, not integrated into the project... You can tell that the story with OM is coming to an end. But then, is a return to Greece really credible?

The Panathinaïkós restarts the engine with a nice check

Let's not kid ourselves, Ounahi left quite an impression in Athens. Voted the club's best player by the supporters last season, he regained his form there, everyone saw it. Problem: Panathinaïkós couldn't exercise the purchase option at the time, due to lack of resources. But now, watch out, the Greens have just sold Vagiannídis to Sporting for about 15 million euros! You see where I'm going with this? Obviously, this frees up funds and could well change the situation.

Finances, player's will: a not so simple case

On the Marseille side, OM has set the bar at 12 million euros to let go of Ounahi. Some clubs have already shown interest: Spartak Moscow rejected by the player, Girona turned down for insufficient offer. Will Pana finally come up with the amount? At this stage, no official offer, but they are clearly waiting in the wings. The player, for his part, prefers a solid sports project rather than a golden exile, and we understand! But honestly, can we really afford to keep such a salary in the loft for a long time? From both a sporting AND financial perspective, it raises questions...

Our opinion: a win-win transfer for everyone?

So, what do you think? Is seeing Ounahi back with the Greens a credible option or should we wait for something better, even if it means taking our time? Aren't we risking undervaluing him if we take too long, or conversely, missing out on a good saving for OM? Frankly, the case is open, and we await your reactions in the comments. What we want is to see our OM move forward, both on the field and behind the scenes. It's up to you, the Olympian team!
