Timothy Weah to OM: Dream or Simple Rumor?
Things are heating up around Timothy Weah's name these days, huh? We've all seen the news announcing him very close to joining us in La Canebière... But beware, it seems that reality is a bit less exciting than we hoped. According to the latest news from Italy – and not just any source, Sky Sport mind you – OM has still not sent an official offer to Juventus for the American international. So, is it a real flirt or just a passing glance?
An agreement with Weah, but nothing with Juve: where do we stand?
Apparently, the player would agree to wear our beautiful jersey (and honestly, who could blame him?). But on Juventus' side, it's a whole different story. They've never seen the color of a Marseille proposal. We might have talked with the Weah camp, but there's no question of paying as long as Juve is asking so much. Can you believe it? They're demanding between 20 and 22 million euros for a player bought two years earlier from LOSC... We can understand why Longoria might be upset: for now, OM does not want to blow its budget.
A tempting profile... but at what price?
Honestly, on paper, Timothy Weah checks quite a few boxes. Versatile – he can play on the right, left, or even as a wing-back – fast, technical, 25 years old... a good potential for development. But one goal and one assist in 38 matches with Juve last season, is that really worth 20 million? At that price, friends, what do you think? Do we take the risk, or save our money for another winger who might better suit our offensive needs?
The competition is rising, OM stays on the lookout
Also be careful, we are not alone in this. Sky Sport Italia reports that several Premier League clubs are in the running (we know their wallets are much bigger than ours). If things heat up on the English side, prices could rise even more, and then it quickly becomes mission impossible for us. On the other hand, we know that OM has been actively seeking a versatile winger since the start of the transfer window. So, patience or a crazy move? A file to be watched very closely, it could move quickly.
What do we think, friends?
Do you believe in Weah at OM? Should we take the risk even if Juve doesn't want to let go, or should we move on to something else? Come debate in the comments: is he the perfect profile for our attack, or too risky a bet? We're looking forward to your opinions, as usual!
