The Parc des Princes, modern and clinical, but does it have the soul of the Vélodrome? We'll see when we go there...

The Parc des Princes, inaugurated in 1972, commands respect with its capacity of 47,929 seats and its characteristic circular architecture. This Parisian venue, entirely renovated over the decades, offers formidable acoustics and an atmosphere that can become suffocating for visiting teams. The stadium is distinguished by its perfectly round shape and steep stands that bring spectators closer to the field.

For us, Marseille supporters, the Parc represents the ultimate challenge. It's where the fate of the Classique is often decided, in this electric atmosphere where every gesture is scrutinized, every action amplified. The Auteuil stand, a historic Parisian kop, tries to rival our corners, creating motivation that transcends the simple sporting framework.

The Parisian venue possesses undeniable assets: an always impeccable pitch, modern locker rooms, flawless organization. Its wide concourses and VIP areas reflect a more business-oriented approach to football, contrasting with the raw passion of the Vélodrome. The proximity to the field, similar to our stadium, ensures palpable intensity during major matches.

Historically, the Parc has been the scene of memorable duels between OM and PSG. These confrontations in the Parisian lair often turned in our favor in the 90s, when our team dominated French football. The stadium's particular acoustics, with its concrete walls that echo sound, amplifies every shout, every chant, transforming matches into true tests of psychological strength.

The circular configuration of the Parc, with no blind spots, offers perfect visibility from any seat. This design makes the stadium a formidable amplifier of emotions, even if the atmosphere remains different from that of the Vélodrome. More contained, more polished, it remains no less formidable on great occasions.

For our trips to Paris, the Parc des Princes represents more than a simple match: it's a pilgrimage to the lair of our historic rival, a test of character that reveals the true value of our team.
