Friends, this time it really feels like the end of the saga! Barring a huge last-minute surprise, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to lace up his boots with Olympique de Marseille. Free since the end of his adventure at Al-Qadsiah, the Gabonese striker is expected to sign a two-year contract. After Medina, Egan-Riley, and Gomes, here is our fourth summer reinforcement. So, supporters, what do you think?

The Aubameyang choice: a calculated gamble or a risk?

At 36, Aubameyang could have moved on to other European clubs, but he chose our OM. A choice of heart or reason? What is certain is that he accepted a contract until 2027 at around 500,000 euros per month, far from what he was earning last year (we're still talking about 2 million!). Let's not kid ourselves, it's a real financial effort from the player... But will it be enough to impress on the field? It's up to you to judge!

Transfer market management: a clever and ambitious OM

It’s often overlooked, but Pablo Longoria and his staff are doing a great job this season. No extravagance in spending: Medina, Gomes, Egan-Riley, and Aubameyang, all for zero transfer fee (or almost). The only true expenses involve Maupay, Hojbjerg, and Rowe, and even then, through already planned purchase options. Honestly, given the club's finances, we couldn't hope for better in terms of management. But is it enough to meet De Zerbi's expectations?

What role for Aubam’ in our attack?

With Maupay, Gouiri, Greenwood, and Rowe, we already have a strong lineup up front. But let's be honest: a seasoned poacher who can play mentor isn't easy to find. If Aubameyang is at 100%, he could be very beneficial, and not just for scoring. We see him more in a role of a luxury joker or even as a mentor for young talents. How do you envision him in the rotation? We want your opinions!

A measured gamble to aim higher?

Sure, he isn't a future investment, but the Gabonese still has a lot left in the tank. His experience at the top level and his goal-scoring instinct could add an extra dimension to our attack. Everything will depend on his adaptation and the management by the staff. If it works, OM could very well compete on all fronts this season. But as always, nothing is set in stone... Are you confident?
