Marseille transfer news: AC Milan step up pursuit of Rabiot, Atlético waiting in the wings

Rabiot to OM, nearing an end? AC Milan are in active talks to sign the midfielder, while Atlético remain on the lookout. A high-stakes final week of the transfer window!

Adrien Rabiot, placed on the transfer list after his violent altercation with Jonathan Rowe, is going through uncertain days on La Canebière. While his contract runs until 2026, the 30-year-old Frenchman finds himself in turmoil, torn between a possible departure and the prospect of a reconciliation sought by Roberto De Zerbi.

Milan shifts into high gear

In the last few hours, AC Milan have decided to accelerate. According to Matteo Moretto and several Italian sources, the Rossoneri have intensified talks to assess the feasibility of the deal. Massimiliano Allegri, the new Milan coach and a long-time admirer of Rabiot since their time together at Juventus, is pushing hard to bring him in. Milan have already strengthened their midfield with Modric, Ricci and Jashari, but the idea would be to add another piece of experience and character.

Atlético are watching, but waiting to make a move

At the same time, Atlético Madrid remain lying in wait. The Colchoneros have not finished their business and could make a move if a major sale—namely that of Conor Gallagher—were to materialize. For now, nothing as concrete as in Italy, but Spain remains a credible avenue if the Milan deal were to fall through.

OM: sell or rebuild with Rabiot?

For OM, the dilemma remains. Selling Rabiot for around €15m would free up cash and tidy up the dressing room, but losing such a player without giving him a second chance could also prove costly on the pitch. De Zerbi himself has reached out publicly, speaking of “intelligence” and “reconciliation,” but the hierarchy, with Longoria and Benatia, doesn’t seem fully aligned.

A decisive week

With less than a week to go before the end of the transfer window, Rabiot’s future is murkier than ever. Milan are pushing, Atlético are lurking, OM are hesitating. It remains to be seen whether this saga will find a quick resolution… or whether the player will stay after all, in a tense atmosphere.

And you, OM family: should we turn the Rabiot page right now, or still believe in a winning return in our colors?
