Mercato OM: Rabiot, Milan tries a cheap shot — Longoria stays inflexible

Less than 48 hours before the end of the transfer window, AC Milan has made an offer deemed insulting by OM: under €10m for Adrien Rabiot. Pablo Longoria and Medhi Benatia remain firm: €15m or nothing.

Milan go on the offensive... but at a knockdown price

The Adrien Rabiot saga continues to stir up the final days of Marseille’s transfer window. According to Fabrizio Romano and the Italian press, AC Milan submitted a first official offer to Olympique de Marseille on Sunday evening. Amount? Less than 10 million euros. A proposal far from the €15m expected by Pablo Longoria, who has no intention of selling off the France international.

De Zerbi offers an olive branch, Milan persist

Since being sidelined after the incident with Jonathan Rowe, Rabiot has had a rough time in Marseille. Roberto De Zerbi publicly said he had “reached out,” leaving the door ajar for a reconciliation. But on the management side, patience is much thinner: Mehdi Benatia and Longoria want to move on and secure a significant fee.

In Lombardy, Stefano Pioli would look favorably on the arrival of the French midfielder, also appreciated by Massimiliano Allegri, who keeps reiterating his attachment to his former player. Milan are pushing, but without matching the asking price.

Timing looms large

With 24 hours to go before the window closes, tension is at its peak. Rabiot must report to Clairefontaine for the France squad, and Didier Deschamps has reiterated his wish that “the situation be resolved before the start of the break.” The ball is therefore in the board’s court: accept an increased offer from the Rossoneri or keep a player who has become a burden.

OM standing firm

For now, Marseille’s position is crystal clear: €15m or nothing. A price set for a player who remains a mainstay for the national team, and whose departure is meant to help rebalance a transfer window conducted at full throttle. After the arrivals of Vermeeren, Emerson and soon Geertruida, OM want to stabilize their finances and avoid giving the impression of a club selling off its assets.

A hectic night ahead

Between incoming deals (Ordóñez, Aguerd) and potential exits (Lirola, Cornelius, Maupay), the OM hierarchy is preparing for a high-tension final stretch. For Adrien Rabiot, anything remains possible. But one thing is certain: Marseille won’t bend easily.

Team OM, do you think Longoria should give in for less than €15m, or, on the contrary, stand firm and force Milan to pay the right price?
