New offensive by OM for Bennacer, despite Milan's refusal
We agree: the Bennacer case at OM is a real soap opera this summer! After a somewhat lukewarm stint with us during the second part of last season, the Algerian international is at the top of De Zerbi's list. However, despite a new attempt on loan, AC Milan has once again closed the door. So, should we really believe in it? Let's take stock together.
A mixed first stint, but obvious potential
Let's not lie, Bennacer's loan in January didn't really shake up our midfield. Injuries, a lack of rhythm... Result: he didn't have the expected impact. Some will say we were too demanding, others that we should have insisted. One thing is certain, the purchase option, too expensive for our finances, quickly cooled our enthusiasm. But would a new loan really change the situation?
OM Strategy: Insist or move on?
The management, with De Zerbi at the helm, seems convinced he can bring what we lack in the midfield. But no matter how much we insist, Milan doesn't want to hear anything for now. On one hand, it makes sense: Bennacer remains a bankable player, and Milan doesn't want to strengthen a rival club in Europe for peanuts. On the other hand, are we right to put so much energy into a player who hasn't proven himself with us? Moreover, in terms of salary, he doesn't come cheap either...
Competition and the risk of timing
What worries us is that we're not the only ones interested. Al-Ittihad, in Saudi Arabia, is also eyeing Bennacer. If a bigger offer ever comes in, we risk losing our chance... And with each passing day, the end of the transfer window gets closer. Are we going to be outpaced again like last year on other deals? The bets are on!
Should we persist with Bennacer? Let’s discuss!
So, what do you think? Should we do everything to bring Bennacer back, even if it means risking another lackluster loan? Or should we look elsewhere and invest in a different profile, perhaps less known but fresher? Tell us everything in the comments, we're waiting for your opinions to fuel the debate in the community!
