An initiative steeped in nostalgia

Ligue 1 has officially launched Ligue 1 Vintage, a YouTube channel dedicated to the league’s finest memories. On the menu: iconic goals, legendary stars, and classic matches. In short, the entire memory of French football gathered in one place, for fans of yesterday and today alike.

Rare archives and legends

On the channel, you’ll already find precious footage: goals from the ’80s, the magical touches of Platini, Zidane, Ginola, Papin, Drogba, and Ronaldinho. The elite’s big clubs aren’t forgotten, with spotlights on OM, PSG, Lyon, Saint-Étienne, Monaco, and Bordeaux. Enough to dive back into an era when every weekend served up its share of raw emotion.

The 5–5 at Gerland in the spotlight

Impossible to miss: one of the first videos posted is the highlights of OL–OM from November 8, 2009, widely regarded as the greatest match in Ligue 1 history.

At the Stade de Gerland, Lyon and Marseille waged an epic battle:

  • Lyon goals: Bastos, Lisandro, Pjanić, Govou… and constant momentum swings.
  • Marseille’s replies: Diawara, Cheyrou, Koné, Brandão, plus Toulalan’s own goal.

A wild storyline, twists every minute, and an unbelievable final score: 5–5.

A memory etched in the annals of French football, and a reminder of what OM is: capable of the worst as well as the best, but always fueled by emotion.

When memory rekindles OM fervor

For us OM supporters, seeing this kind of archive resurface is to relive nights when the heart was pounding a mile a minute. That 5–5 is the essence of OM: a team sometimes fragile, always spectacular, never resigned. And it’s in this memory that our passion is anchored, between pride, nostalgia, and chills.

The story is still being written

With Ligue 1 Vintage, the LFP offers us a true journey through time. Between goals for the ages and legendary matches, this YouTube channel is set to become a reference for all lovers of French football. And for us Marseillais, it’s impossible to resist the pull of that 2009 OL–OM, a monument of our shared history with Ligue 1.
