OM Transfer News: After Harit, is Maupay next to leave?

After Amine Harit’s move to Başakşehir, Neal Maupay could also be on his way out. Lyon are pushing, another option exists: reflection underway.

A Summer Still on the Move in Marseille

Olympique de Marseille may not have finished their transfer window yet. Just a few days after the official loan of Amine Harit to Istanbul Başakşehir, another Marseille striker is on his way out: Neal Maupay. The former Everton player, signed for €4.5 million and author of 4 goals and 4 assists last season, is reconsidering his future.

OL in Pole Position

According to Le 10 Sport, Olympique Lyonnais has already submitted a concrete offer. Michael Gerlinger, Lyon’s executive, recently confirmed the search for an attacking reinforcement. Maupay, relegated to the bench since the arrival of Amine Gouiri and left out of the Champions League squad, could see Lyon as an opportunity to regain playing time and a more central role.

Two Options on the Table

While OL seems well positioned, another option — whose identity has not yet surfaced — is also being considered by Maupay’s camp. This competition could speed up his decision in the coming days.

A Choice Driven by Playing Time

Well liked in the dressing room for his mindset, Maupay is struggling with his current situation. “This lack of sporting prospects weighs heavily,” a close source reveals. With three matches a week, De Zerbi is rotating regularly, but the 28-year-old striker remains on the sidelines. At OL, he would find a project better suited to his ambitions.

Next Turning Point Ahead

The emergency transfer market remains open in September, and Maupay could take advantage of it. Between Marseille and Lyon, the French striker is about to make a decision. His departure would mark a new chapter in the major squad overhaul launched by Longoria after the break.
