OM transfer window: Zhegrova, as Létang blows hot and cold

Edon Zhegrova has said yes to OM, but Lille is blocking the move. Olivier Létang multiplies ambiguous statements, mixing criticism of Marseille with hints of an opening for a transfer.

We all know the saga: Edon Zhegrova (26), LOSC winger, has already reached a contractual agreement with OM. The player wants to join Marseille; he has repeated it to the management and even to his coach Bruno Genesio. But on the LOSC side, the matter is dragging on. Olivier Létang did not hesitate to publicly take a swipe at OM, accusing Longoria and De Zerbi of having spoken directly with his player.

“I don’t think he’ll go to OM, for a number of reasons,” Létang said on BeIN Sports, while acknowledging that Zhegrova had told him he had spoken with Marseille. An ambiguous message, a mix of firmness and reproach.

A door left ajar nonetheless

Because, in the same breath, the Lille president also admits he gave his word to Zhegrova: if a good offer comes in, he won’t hold him back. “Will he still be a Lille player? I want to keep him, but I told him he had a way out if an interesting offer came,” he specified.

A message that feels staged: flex the muscles, but keep the option to sell, especially with a player whose contract expires in less than a year.

OM stay the course

On the Marseille side, the stance remains clear: OM want Zhegrova, Zhegrova wants OM. With 48 hours left in the transfer window, the tug of war is intensifying but the conviction remains. With his creativity, dribbling, and ability to make the difference in tight spaces, the Kosovan is seen as the difference-maker De Zerbi has been waiting for to round out his attacking arsenal.

Team OM on alert

So, Létang bluffing or a real wall? One thing is certain: the Zhegrova saga leaves no one indifferent. Marseille supporters are holding their breath, hoping that Longoria and Benatia will manage to force a decision in the crunch time of the transfer window.
