OM transfer window: Zhegrova still in their sights!

OM keep pushing for Zhegrova. The Kosovo international wants to sign, Lille are stalling, Juve are dragging their feet. High-tension final stretch to the transfer window!

Edon Zhegrova, the 26-year-old Kosovar winger, remains a priority target for our OM. And despite Olivier Létang’s denials in a press conference, talks are continuing behind the scenes. Luca Bendoni confirmed it on X: Marseille “continue to work” on this deal… and above all, the player himself “would really like” to join us. When a player wants to wear our shirt, that counts, right?

Lille is playing for time, Juve is stalling

On Lille’s side, they’re acting like the door is closed. Fair enough: they don’t want cut-price offers, especially with a player valued at €25m on Transfermarkt. But let’s be honest: Zhegrova no longer really figures in LOSC’s plans, and his symbolic reintegration against Monaco (1-0) didn’t fool many. On the other hand, Juventus, touted as a rival, isn’t moving forward on this deal. Result: OM has a clear run at it… if Longoria and Benatia can find the right formula.

Why Zhegrova could be a game-changer for OM

On the pitch, no need to spell it out: Zhegrova means explosiveness, dribbling, and unpredictability. Everything we love to see at the Vélodrome. On the right, he could become Greenwood’s natural replacement if the Englishman were to leave, but he also has the versatility to play on the left. In short, a profile that fits De Zerbi’s project perfectly, built on movement and creativity. Can you already picture the link-ups with Aubameyang and Paixão? We can!

The awkward question: what about the price?

We know this summer transfer window has already cost the club a lot. Between Ordoñez, Paixão, Gomes and co., every euro has to be well spent. So, should we put €25m on a winger coming off a tricky season, but who has already proven his talent? That’s where the debate begins. But one thing is certain: the player wants to come. And that might be the decisive argument.

Over to you, OM family!

Zhegrova: huge coup or big risk? Is he the player we need to light up the Vélodrome, or would it be better to invest elsewhere? Drop your opinions in the comments—we want to know how you feel about this red-hot end-of-window saga!
