A second test for our OM: what can we expect against Olympic Charleroi?
Friends, the prep continues for our OM! After the impressive 5-0 win against Excelsior Maassluis and with an audience turning up (more than 120,000 of us in front of our screens!), it's time for a second test run this Monday against Olympic Charleroi. Let me tell you, we’re keeping a close eye on this, and we have some expectations... and questions to consider together.
De Zerbi fine-tuning his plans, but how far will the automatisms go?
Roberto De Zerbi, our Mister with the Italian flair, is not giving up: since July 17th, he's been working with the group in Zeist, Netherlands. We saw against Maassluis a rather organized team, with seriousness and – it must be said – recruits already at ease: Medina and Gomes didn't flinch, and Greenwood scored a hat trick just how we like it! So, we all dream of seeing if these automatisms will hold and if the new players continue their momentum. Who do you think will stand out tonight?
A closed-door match... but OM bets on fan proximity!
A little quirk tonight: the match is played behind closed doors at the KNVB Campus, but don't panic, we will all be able to follow it live (and for free) on the official YouTube channel and om.fr. This club choice is not insignificant: 4 of the 6 friendly matches are streamed, to maintain the connection with us, even from a distance. A really good idea, right? Let us know if you'll be watching these streams or sticking to the highlights!

Summer Act 2025-2026: a squad that needs to prove itself
This second match is a real test for the whole squad. De Zerbi wants to give everyone some playtime, to gauge their form and see who is already in the rhythm. But be careful, playing a Belgian Challenger Pro League team is not just a simple training: Charleroi will want to prove themselves too. We will keep a close watch on the rotations, the youngsters, and especially the reaction of those who are announced to leave or are on the chopping block during this transfer window. In your opinion, who has the most to gain or lose?
Teachings before the return home
After this stint in the Netherlands – which lasts until July 25th –, it's back to Marseille for the rest of the preparation. We know that the summer prep is not trivial: a good dynamic in July can change everything to launch the season on the right track. But we shouldn't overinterpret a friendly match either... Let's discuss together: do you think these matches really allow you to predict the future, or are they just for form?
Your turn, supporters!
So, friends, see you tonight in front of the screen? Who are you looking forward to seeing shine against Charleroi? And above all, what are the expectations for our De Zerbi-inspired OM, between new faces and automatism to create? We want to read your opinions, your analyses, and even your rants, so let loose in the comments!
