Will Marseille renew their pursuit of Malick Fofana?

Fofana to OM? Lyon must sell, Marseille could make a big move — €40m, Champions League ambitions, foreign competition: Will Benatia dare to reignite the pursuit before the end of the transfer window?

Should OM go back in for Malick Fofana? We thought the matter was buried at the start of the summer, but given how things are evolving in Lyon and on our side, maybe it’s time to take another look at this young winger who turns heads.

OL forced to sell: a boon for us?

On the Lyon side, the situation is clear: they need to bring in €40 million, and Fofana is one of the only players with real market value. Granted, Fonseca would like to keep him, but at Lyon, financial urgency comes first. Everton have already tried their luck but Fofana said no, waiting for an offer that matches his ambitions. The Champions League could tempt him to come to us, right?

What resources for OM this summer?

You’ve seen how quickly Marseille moves when there’s a good opportunity, right? If the departures of Rowe or Rabiot are confirmed, we’d have funds to invest… but is spending €40 million on Fofana reasonable? From a sporting standpoint, his profile would help: fast, explosive, comfortable on both wings. But we also have to keep the books balanced. Shouldn’t we prioritize strengthening at center-back, as the staff wants? The Zhegrova option is still on the table too… What do you think? Tell us in the comments!

A real boost for Marseille’s attack?

Fofana put up 11 goals and 6 assists in all competitions last season, in an OL side that wasn’t exactly at its best. He’s already made his mark this season, notably at Bollaert with an assist for Mikautadze. In the Champions League, we’ll need bench depth and players capable of breaking down a defense on their own. Can you picture Fofana linking up with Aubameyang and Harit? Honestly, isn’t that the stuff of dreams?

A red-hot final sprint—do we believe?

Let’s not kid ourselves, this one is far from simple. If no English club makes a clear move, OM can have a go in the final days of the window. But between Lyon not wanting to strengthen a direct rival and foreign competition with deep pockets, we’ll have to play it tight. Will Longoria dare to go on the offensive? Your turn, folks: is Fofana the profile we need, or is it better to invest elsewhere? We’re waiting for your opinions!
