Zhegrova to OM: Létang closes the door, and then?

LOSC closes the door on Zhegrova: bluff or real end of the line? Létang is putting on the pressure, should OM insist or move on? Open debate!

Reporter

The president of LOSC, Olivier Létang, has just put a serious brake on all the rumors surrounding Edon Zhegrova and a possible move to our OM. Questioned by L’Équipe, he was clear: for him, neither the sporting conditions nor the financial conditions are in place for a transfer to happen this summer. So, is it a real blockage or just a bluff to raise the stakes? You be the judge.

LOSC's position: Intransigence or strategy?

Létang said it bluntly: Zhegrova is with them, he's training well, he's hungry for the ball, and unless things suddenly change, he should be playing the season at Lille. It's hard not to see this, though, as a classic maneuver to show strength before negotiations. Do you really think they'd close the door if a good offer came along, especially with a player contracted until 2026 and whose extension is still unsigned? We all know how it goes: discussions, stalling, and sometimes things unravel in the final hours of the transfer market. In your opinion, is it all for show or not?

Marseille's interest: For or against Zhegrova's profile?

Let's be honest, Zhegrova has a profile that makes you drool: technical, impactful, capable of eliminating rivals and shaking up the right side. Yes, he could definitely bring something different to our game, especially with De Zerbi, who likes creative players. But do we really need him at all costs? OM’s offensive sector isn’t exactly bare, and there are other options on the table. Is it reasonable to invest heavily in a player who's not certain to shake up the hierarchy?

Financial risks and opportunities: Is it worth the gamble?

We know LOSC won't let go easily. The player is theirs until 2026, so they have the upper hand in negotiations. But wait, if no concrete offer comes in this summer, their position could be much less comfortable next year, with the risk of the player leaving free or at a reduced price. On our side, should we break the bank now, or wait for the balance of power to shift? The classic transfer market dilemma... What would you do if you were Longoria?

The transfer market, a poker game to the end

Despite the big statements, we all know that nothing is ever set in stone during transfer periods. The Zhegrova case may not be closed, but we shouldn't become fixated either. If an opportunity arises, why not, but we also shouldn’t end up empty-handed at the end of August if it collapses. Management is watching the market closely, and we continue to dream (or not) of a new winger.

And you, friends, what do you think? Is Zhegrova a whim or a true priority for our OM? Should we try everything or move on to something else? Tell us everything in the comments; this debate deserves to be launched among enthusiasts!
