OM: Ounahi and Rongier pushed towards the exit!
Transfer Window Review: OM Faces Ounahi and Rongier Impasse
Friends, we’re experiencing an eventful summer at OM! With Roberto De Zerbi working on his new formations and the arrivals already recorded (CJ Egan-Riley, Angel Gomes, Facundo Medina), the project is moving forward... but not necessarily where we expected it most. Because, yes, the crux of the matter is also selling to balance our squad and give ourselves the means to recruit smartly. Yet, on the departures side, it's stagnant. Are you worried too?
Ounahi, the Sticking Point
We have a real Marseille saga here. Loaned to Panathinaikos last season, Ounahi made a good comeback: 5 goals and 7 assists in 37 games is far from shabby! But De Zerbi still doesn't count on him. As a result, the management found an agreement at 12 million euros with Spartak Moscow, and... a flat refusal from the player! He doesn’t want to go to Russia, and Ounahi reportedly turned down all other offers proposed to him. Predictably, things are heating up internally. What do you think? Should we force the player’s hand or wait longer, risking missing out on other sales opportunities?
Rongier: The Eternal Captain Soon to Leave?
As for Rongier, it’s no simpler. Out of contract in 2026 and after refusing to extend this winter, the iconic captain is no longer part of the Marseille leadership's plans. No open clash, but clearly, he's been shown the door. Igor Tudor, now at Juve, likes his profile, but there's a snag there too: no agreement on the Turin side, and the case isn’t progressing. Should we worry about an experienced player leaving, or rather rejoice as a new chapter turns?
Sporting and Financial Consequences: Where Are We Headed?
Honestly, it’s a vicious cycle, isn't it? As long as we don’t sell, it’s hard to further strengthen the midfield, whereas De Zerbi clearly expects fresh blood. Financially, no sales mean no additional budget, and sportingly, keeping players who don’t play is rarely good for the group’s atmosphere and dynamics. But be careful not to sell our players short either... The risk is getting stuck with no room to maneuver before the transfer window closes.
And What Do You Think?
So, friends, what’s your feeling? Do we keep Ounahi and Rongier at the risk of seeing them sulking on the bench, or do we push to sell them even if it means lowering our demands? Do you agree with the club's management on this issue, or would you have done it differently? Tell us everything in the comments, it’s time to open the debate!
