Paixao, the priority of our OM: but at what cost?
You've all seen it coming: Igor Paixao, the Brazilian winger from Feyenoord, is the talk of the town at the Commanderie. At 25, the player has been impressing the Olympian leadership for several weeks, and frankly, we understand why. Dynamic, technical, capable of bringing danger to his wing... Paixao ticks quite a few boxes to ignite our attack. But here's the thing: Leeds United, freshly promoted to the Premier League, has already put two offers on the table, the latest coming close to 30 million euros, bonuses included. And us, what are we doing? Is it reasonable to get into a bidding war at this level for a winger?
We know it, our OM is not swimming in money. Investing so much in Paixao is a real risk, especially if we still have to reinforce other positions afterwards. What do you think? Ready to see the club drop 30 million? Tell us in the comments if you believe Paixao is worth that price or if we should quickly turn to other options.
Aubameyang, Weah: the uncertainty hovering...
On the strikers' side, it's not looking good either. We were all hoping to see Aubameyang back at the start of the camp in Andorra, to work on the team's automatism. But no, there are still contractual issues dragging on, slowing everything down. At 36, can PEA still lead our attack for another season? And then, aren't we taking too many risks by stalling on this case?
For Timothy Weah, it’s not any clearer. The player likes the Marseille project, but Juve wants a loan with a mandatory purchase option. Honestly, it feels like it's stagnating, and meanwhile, other clubs are moving forward with their reinforcements. We're waiting for your opinions: should we insist on Weah? Or move on to something else as quickly as possible?
Departures: major clean-up ahead
This transfer market is also about musical chairs in terms of exits. Quentin Merlin and Valentin Rongier have already left for Rennes, and the club is still pushing to find exits for Amine Harit and several players relegated to Pro 2 — Bamo Meïté, Ismaël Koné, Azzedine Ounahi, Faris Moumbagna... It's clear that the management really wants to restructure the squad, not just tinker with it.
But will these departures really free up enough space (and budget) to attract our coveted priorities? And who, in your opinion, should absolutely stay or leave before the season resumes? Share your thoughts in the comments, the debates are open!
And now, what do we do?
Between the leads that are heating up, those that are cooling down, and the departures to handle, this 2025 transfer market feels like a headache for our OM. We all want to believe in it, to see a Paixao or a new profile arrive, but we also shouldn’t mess up and burn all our cards right away. Are you confident about what's next? What would, for you, be the ideal plan?
